Start date:

Budget:
EUR 143 750,00

Scope

Fostering Commonfare

PIE News fosters commonfare or “welfare of commons”: a new and collaborative form of welfare provision based on grassroots democracy and equitable governance of self-managed commons which deals with people’s real needs.

People Participation

PIE News can only be successful with the direct involvement of the people who are the real owners of the platform. Therefore, the project incorporates three pilot studies that will be conducted in Croatia, the Netherlands, and Italy. From day 1, participants will have a direct impact on the design and the chance to adopt and improve the platform.

The 3 pilot studies

The project will be developed through leveraging the work carried out with local people, that is: Museu da Crise working in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague, in the Netherlands; Basic Income Network Italy working in Milan and Rome; and the Centre for Peace Studies based in Zagreb, Croatia.

Platform

The PIE News digital platform will support people who engage in commonfare by: INFORMING about welfare state provision and relevant data, SHARING good practices with digital storytelling, SUPPORTING initiatives based on resource-sharing and bottom-up solutions to real needs. www.commonfare.net (online starting from February 2017)
