In Fall 2013, Mónica Cameirão, FCT Post Doctoral Researcher, and Fernando Morgado Dias, faculty member of UMa and M-ITI’s researcher, participated in the Faculty Exchange Program from the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program.
The Faculty Exchange Program is opened to any individual holding a doctoral degree and affiliated with Portuguese Higher Educations Institutions or Research Labs. The aim is to promote an enriching exchange of culture and experiences that can be transmitted to students through new education and research methods.
From August to December 2013, Mónica Cameirão was hosted by Prof. Daniel P. Siewiorek, director of the Quality of Life Technology Center while Prof. Fernando Morgado Dias was hosted by Mario Bergés from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
While in Carnegie Mellon University, Mónica Cameirão and Morgado Dias worked closely with their hosts in on-going research projects and discussed future collaborations in project proposals.
