Public Utility Status

M-ITI has been awarded the Public Utility Status, as acknowledged by the Regional Government of Madeira. The decision was made as a result of the research work developed in the field of human-computer interaction, which has allowed M-ITI to transform into an innovation hub at regional, national and international levels.

 

Nuno Jardim Nunes, president of M-ITI and scientific director of CMU Portugal, is very pleased with this new phase at the Institute: "The Public Utility Status is the recognition of the work done by researchers, staff and students in M- ITI, and its contribution to Madeira island and the country. "

 

Nuno Nunes also stated that "We are committed to continuing with the same conviction, investing in advanced training, talent capture and development of innovative research projects that promote the development of Madeira Island and the country."

 

Currently, M-ITI is home to 44 researchers and 33 Faculty PhD holders, all of whom are from different nationalities.
