06th January 2016

Congratulations to Simone Ashby whose paper, "The AMI Meeting Corpus: A Pre-announcement", was awarded the ACM ICMI (International Conference on Multimodal Interaction) Ten-Year Technical Impact Award in November 2015!

The paper was published in the proceedings of Machine Learning for Multimodal Interaction (MLMI) 2005, and has received 160 citations, excluding self-citations.

In the paper, the authors describe a multi-modal data set of 100 hours of meeting recordings for a project aimed at developing meeting browsing technologies. The corpus was recorded using close-talking and far-field microphones, individual and room-view video cameras, projection, a whiteboard, and DigiPens, all with synchronized output signals. They describe the data set, including the rationale behind using elicited material, and explain how the material was recorded, transcribed and annotated.
